Cowbell recorded both being shaken, as well as being struck with a pencil. Recorded using a blue yeti microphone at 16-bit 44100hz in adobe audition cs6. Used audition's noise removal tools to minimize audible background noise. While no others effects have been added, i would recommend using a hard limiter of around 10-20db for a fuller sounding bell. Attribution appreciated but not required.

This recording was made with an iphone 4s fitted with a tascam condenser stereo microphone in an asian restaurant in bern. We hear the sound of the restaurant with people eating and chatting while the open kitchen is busy washing and preparing dishes. One of the bus boys is singing to himself, which can be heard dimly and at some point a bell strikes a few times.

An antique underwood no. 11 typewriter, ca. 1925. Sound was recorded on a zoom h4 in a sound booth. However, it didn't have a bell or a platen, so the key is hitting the platen of another typewriter from the 1970s. Audio cleaned up in audacity. Postprocessed to normalized 16/44. 1 stereo pcm with cooledit 2000, flac-encoded. An electric light rail train approaches i-25 & broadway station while ringing its bell in rhythm. It stops. Doors open, an announcement plays, doors close, and the train departs.

Rode nt4 mic with a rycote wind muff on (slight attenuation of the higher frequencies is noticeable to my ears) sitting on a chair under an awning on my porch. I hit record slightly too late to catch the first couple of bell rings, but got most of it. First we hear the church signal 8pm, then we hear the courthouse do the same thing. Also some wind in the trees right above the mic, some rain, a bit of thunder, and some cars in a small town. Also a huge truck with loud engine that sounds almost like thunder towards the end, in fact it was mixed with thunder at one moment. Captured with maudio delta1010lt soundcard.
